Row 5: Ch 4 counts as first dc and ch 1. Dc in next dc ch1 four times.  At the corner dc in 3d chain, ch 3, dc in same 3rd ch, ch 1, continue around in the same manner sl st in top of (3ch) of beginning ch4.
Row 6: Ch 4 and repeat row 4. Sl st in top of (3ch) of beginning ch4.
Row 7: Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), dc, ch 2, dc, hdc in next dc (shell completed).  Sc in next dc.  Repeat to corner (6 shells). At corner 3 single crochet in ch 3 space of previous row.  Repeat around to ch 2 attach with sl to top of second ch.  Motif completed.

I used the join as you go method for attaching motif’s together.  To do this…as you are completing Row 7 you will get to the middle of your shell and will attach across to the middle of the shell in the opposite motif.

1 hdc, 1 dc, ch 1; slip stitch in middle of ch 2 of shell in opposite motif, ch 1, dc, hdc, sc in next dc.  Continue in this manner to the end of the row.

My first 3 finishes.  It's 2:17 MST and I still don't know what I'm finishing tonight.  LOL!

Golly it's been awhile. I've been feeling awful about how much I start and don't finish.  With that said, I'm starting something new this year. I feel comfortable sharing it on here, because I'm doubtful anyone reads this.  So there's no pressure.   I want to make something everyday.  It doesn't have to be anything big, but I have to finish whatever it is I start.  I just started on Monday of this week.  I have a friend who's grandmother crocheted a delicate poinsettia Christmas ornament. She had to return it to a cousin, so I copied it on Monday.  I have a few things to tweak on it, but it was my first of the finishes.  Yesterday I made a simple ornament sewn out of a fabric for a Christmas ornament.  As you can see, I have Christmas on my mind.  The interesting thing is that I've not even thought about what I'll be making in the evenings.  I just come up with it when I get home.  I'm starting a book of finishes, so that at the end of the year I have something to show for my time.  I waste entirely too much of it and at this age have realized it's finite and not infinite.  Cheers!

Time Out

Well I'm untethered...in the work arena that is...hmmm.  I'm actually happy about it, but now I'm at a crossroads.  What to do?  What to do?  I have been working as a secretary/admin for over 30 years.  I'd like to do something creative.  Say, start my own business.  Not sure.  I've got some time to figure it out though.  Guess I'll just take it one day at a time.  Wish me luck!

Give a Man a Fish Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man to Fish Feed Him For Life! Lao Tzu

As a family we support a little boy named Twizerimana in Africa.   I feel that it is important to give back to people.  Often times we get so wrapped up in our daily lives and goings on we forget there are those around us who need something we can give.

Hearts for the World

My pastor from a long ago world away is involved in this ministry.  This is a ministry I can get behind and really support.  To give these people a hand up not a hand out and give them the opportunity to make a life for themselves and their family is an amazing thing.  You can click on the link above to read all about it.  If you feel led to help it would be so appreciated.

I Have Husband Butt!

With the close of 2012 I, as most of the world, have been going through some self reflection.  I realized that I love to work in my craft room.  Love sewing, crocheting and knitting and what not.  However, the second my husband gets home and we eat dinner...down we sit in the matching chairs in the living room.  Fortunately, we have the same schedules and he gets home roughly 45 minutes after me.  So I have dinner on the table and we eat and then plop we go into the chairs.  From time to time he golfs which gives me time in my sewing room.  I am trying to turn over a new leaf and get something done this year so that by the time Christmas gets here, which will come all too soon, I will have something to show for my sitting in my mama chair.  I'm hoping I can get enough time at the beginning of this year to organize projects to sew in my chair and projects I can work on in the sewing room when he's gone.  Of course, there are never a shortage of projects which is a good thing!  Here's to a productive 2013!  Happy New Year everyone!
